Bathina made an important breakthrough in creating User Personal Voice-Models for their "Bathina VoiceAuto" Product for different accents of English
Bathina Technologies India Ltd, in their continued research on Voice Automation technology, made a important breakthrough in creating new user Voice Models for user with different accents with a training (by reading one script) of only 10 to 15 minutes, yielding more than 92% initial recognition accuracy. Reading additional stories and continued usage of the product improves the recognition accuracy to higher levels of 98% - 100%.
Generally, most Continuous Speech Recognitions Engines come with generic predefined speaker-independent voice models. With so many accents in India and around the world, such models give moderate recognition accuracy to majority of the users. Speech Engine developers also commonly provide mechanisms to modify the generic voice-model to create user's personal voice-models by getting the user to read some scripts to record the user pronunciations of different words. This adaptation process is one of the key-factors for higher accuracy levels, especially in continuous speech recognition models.
Such voice-models along with pronunciations for application developer added Words & Phrases and word-usage models aid the speech engines to recognize the user's speech. Bathina Technologies worked on all these three areas for several years to create one of the best speech recognition process, especially for diverse accents. The readers already know that Bathina VoiceAuto is developed on IBM ViaVoice™ Speech Recognition Engine. IBM ViaVoice™, to our knowledge, comes with the best generic predefined voice-model. Bathina Technologies has modified that model and the adaptation process to cut down the time required for adaptation and to achieve better initial recognition accuracy by setting some parameters to suit particular accent. "Speaking of this breakthrough, the CMD of Bathina Technologies, Mr V Rao Bathina said, "It used to take over 2 hours of training with the Edition & Version of IBM ViaVoice™ Bathina VoiceAuto is currently built on, by reading all four scripts to create a reasonable User Voice-Model for a reasonable initial recognition accuracy of about 93%. Even with great advantages of VoiceAuto product, this long training requirement was a disadvantage our customers used to complain about. Now, with this breakthrough, we give great advantage to our existing customers and prospective customers in all areas of Voice Automation and satisfy them better. With this lesser training time, improved functionality, voice support to more applications, additional vocabularies (more than half a million additional words and phrases) covering more than 100 different subjects, Voice Auto 1.3 is almost ready for the release shortly, which I am very sure, will be recognized as the world's best Voice Automation Product."
