Silox acquires stake in Transpek

Silox SA, a Belgium-based company, has acquired 61 per cent stake in the Baroda-based Transpek, largest manufacturer of sodium hydrosulphite, zinc oxide and zinc dust in the country, according to Tony Dinallo, administrator of Silox SA.

He said that the acquisition was aimed at consolidating their worldwide presence and synergising their strength.

Ashwin Shroff, chairman of Transpek, said that the central government had recently approved the acquisition of 61 per cent of the equity share capital by Silox.

The joint venture company will be renamed Transpek-Silox Industries Limited, he said. While the chlorination products division of Transpek would remain with the Shroff Group.
