Nasscom-Welsh Development Agency to sign MoU

Kanchana Suggu in Bombay

Just after Nasscom signed an MoU with Dubai Internet City Nasscom president Dewang Mehta is about to sign another one.

The MoU will be with the Welsh Development Agency. "Wales is very keen on increasing business with India. UK is our second important partner as far as software is concerned. But we are not doing much business with them. So we decided that we will take a delegation of the Indian software industry this year to Wales and they will also bring a delegation to India by November," Mehta told rediff.com.

The MoU will concentrate on meetings to generate more business in the areas of software development, e-commerce and IT enabled services.

A joint conference will also be held at Cardiff in November, Mehta said. The member companies of Welsh Development Agency will also be coming to India soon.

"We'll be signing the MoU in ten days," Mehta told rediff.com.

The MoU with Dubai Internet city was pertaining to co-operation in the areas of software services, Internet, e-commerce, information security, content development, knowledge economy, HRD and R&D.
