 Board meetings for interim dividend declaration.

 Timex Watches BV acquires 4.5 million shares on preferential basis
 Timex Watches B V has acquired 4.5 million equity shares of Timex Watches Ltd of Rs 10/- each for cash at a premium of Rs 14.25/- each on preferential basis. After the acquisition of 4.5 million shares on preferential basis the holding of Timex Watches B V along with the holding of its associate company (the promoter) is 36.78% in Timex Watches Ltd .

 Mahindra Ugine workers on strike
 The workers of Mahindra Ugine Steel Co Ltd. have gone on a strike wef April 11, 2000 at its steel plant situated at Khopoli to settle their pending demands.

 Leading Edge acquires Applisoft Inc
 The Board of Directors of Leading Edge Systems Ltd. at its meeting held today (April 11, 2000) has approved, subject to necessary and regulatory approvals, the acquisition of Applisoft Inc, a US based company .The consideration for the acquisition is fixed at US Dollars 9 million for cash.

 Chambal Fertilisers declares 14% interim dividend
 The Board of Directors of Chambal Fertilisers and Chemicals Ltd. at its meeting held today April 11, 2000 has declared an interim dividend of 14% (Rs 1.40 per share) on 40,60,00,000 equity shares of Rs 10 each pro-rata basis for the year 1999-2000. The interim dividend as declared by the Board of Directors would be paid to those shareholders whose names appear on the Register of Members as on April 28, 2000.

 BSE imposes special margin on five scrips
 The BSE has imposed a special margin at the rate of 25 % on the following scrips with effect from April 11, 2000.

 PSL Holdings MQ 2000 Net up by 135 % at Rs 62.03 million
 PSL Holdings Ltd has reported a net profit of Rs 62.03 million for the quarter ended March 31, 2000 representing a 135 % increase compared to a profit of Rs 26.39 million in quarter ended March 31, 1999. The total income for MQ 2000 is up by 257.21 % at Rs 754.78 million against Rs 211.30 million in MQ 99. The Gross Profit at Rs 107.40 million is up by 162.02 %. The company commenced commercial production at its 3rd Pipe Mill Unit located at Daman during this quarter. This unit will be eligible to avail tax concessions provided to units in the union territory for a period up to 10 years. The company paid a total dividend of 35 % for the year 1998-99 being the third consecutive year of dividend declaration.

 Lupin Labs MQ 2000 Net Profit up by 283.76 % at Rs 120.5 million
 Lupin Laboratories Ltd has announced a net profit of Rs 120.50 million for the quarter ended March 31, 2000 as against Rs 31.40 million in MQ 99. The sales and income from operations for MQ 2000 are up by 6.71 % at Rs 1580.10 million. Other income is Rs 4.60 million (MQ99 Rs 4.50million). The Board of Directors of Lupin Laboratories Ltd at its meeting held today April 11, 2000 has declared a final dividend of 25% (Rs 2.50 per share) on the equity shares for the financial year 1999-2000 absorbing a sum of Rs 7.77 crore.

 Motherson Sumi to consider merger of subsidiary company
 The Board of Directors of Motherson Sumi Systems Ltd will meet on April 24, 2000 to consider among other things merger of Motherson Auto Components Engineering Ltd its wholly owned subsidiary into Motherson Sumi Systems Ltd.

 Coventry Coil MQ Net Profit at Rs 106.57 million
 Coventry Coil-O-Matic (Haryana) Ltd has announced a net profit of Rs 106.57 million for the quarter ended March 31, 2000 as against a loss of Rs 3.31 million in MQ 99. The sales for MQ 2000 are up by 45.78 % at Rs 36.35 million. Other income is Rs 106.62 million (MQ99 Rs 0.42 million). The profits for the year ended March 31, 2000 are Rs 100.22 million, as against a loss of Rs 8.07 million. The annual sales are up 45.62% at Rs 134.54million as against Rs 92.39 million in financial year ending March 1999. Other income includes interest payable Rs 1065.14 lacs to Financial Institutions on Term Loans for earlier years, written back in terms of rehabilitation scheme approved by BIFR vide its proceedings held on 27/12/1999 and order received on 17/01/2000.

 Prism Mercantile to enter into IT business
 The Board of Directors of Prism Mercantile Company Ltd. at its meeting held on April 10, 2000 has decided to enter new activities in developing software/hardware, media E-commerce etc after assessing them and subject to the approval of the shareholders of the company. The Board has decided to offer shares on preferential basis to business associates and others aggregating upto Rs 5 crores subject to the approval of the shareholders of the company.

 TNPL to form a new IT subsidiary
 The Board of Directors of Tamil Nadu News Print and Papers Ltd. at its meeting held on April 7, 2000 has taken a decision to form a subsidiary company to undertake IT enabled activities .The company would be taking steps to form a new subsidiary company.

 B&A Plantations declares 15% interim dividend
 The Board of Directors of B&A Plantations and Industries Ltd at its meeting held today April 11, 2000 has declared an interim dividend of 15% (Rs 1.50 per share) in respect of the equity shares of the company. The record date for the aforesaid interim dividend is May 24, 2000.

 Pratappur Sugar declares 10% interim dividend
 The Board of Directors of The Pratappur Sugar & Industries Ltd. at its meeting held on April 10, 2000 has declared an interim dividend of 10%(Re 1/- per share) for the financial year ending on October 31, 2000 in respect of Company's 36,00,000 equity shares of Rs 10/- each. The record date for the aforesaid interim dividend is May 23, 2000.

 Atlas Copco to consider merger of Chicago Pneumatic
 A Board Meeting of Atlas Copco (India) Ltd is scheduled on April 19, 2000 to consider the proposal of merger of Atlas Copco (India) Ltd and Chicago Pneumatic Ltd.

 Infosys MQ 2000 Net Profit up by 116.75 % at Rs 934.20 million
 Infosys Technologies Ltd has announced a net profit of Rs 934.2 million for the quarter ended March 31, 2000 as against Rs 431 million in MQ 99. The sales for MQ 2000 are up by 82.56 % at Rs 2773.5 million. Other income is Rs 86.50 million (MQ99 Rs 17.80million).The profits for the year ended March 31, 2000 are Rs 2935.20 million, an increase of 116.99% over previous year figures of Rs 1352.70 million. The annual sales are up 73.38% at Rs 8823.3million as against Rs 5088.90 million in financial year ending March 1999.The Board of Directors of Infosys Technologies Ltd. at its meeting held today April 10, 2000 has declared a final dividend of 30% (Rs 3/- per share) (60% on par value of Rs 5 per share).

 Satyam Computer MQ 2000 Net Profit up by 118.18 % at Rs 420.92 million
 Satyam Computer Services Ltd has announced a net profit of Rs 420.92 million for the quarter ended March 31, 2000 as against Rs 192.92 million in MQ 99. The sales and income from operations for MQ 2000 are up by 92.25 % at Rs 2057.24 million. Other income is Rs 10.76 million (MQ99 Rs 1.49million). The profits for the year ended March 31, 2000 are Rs 1348.64 million, an increase of 85.25% over previous year figures of Rs 782.02 million. The annual sales are up 72.84% at Rs 6770.67 million as against Rs 3917.23 million in financial year ending March 1999.The Board of Directors of Satyam Computer Services Ltd at its meeting held today April 10, 2000 has declared a final dividend of 15% (Rs 1.50 per share) on the equity shares for the financial year 1999-2000.

 Triumph International FY 2000 Net Profit up by 672 % at Rs 193 million
 Triumph International Finance India Ltd has announced a net profit of Rs 65 million for the quarter ended March 31, 2000 as against Rs 13 million in MQ 99, an increase of 400 %. The sales and income from operations are up by 1422.62 % at Rs 4644 million. The profits for the year ended March 31, 2000 are Rs 193 million, an increase of 672 % over previous year figures of Rs 25/- million. The annual sales are 631.33 % up at Rs 5602/- million as against Rs 766 /- million in financial year ending March 1999. The Board has recommended a dividend of Rs 7.50 per share. The dividend if approved shall be payable to the shareholders whose names appear on the register of members as on May 20, 2000.
