First up we have this pic in from Ashley Vales from Goa. "It was taken by my wife Melcia at Dudsagar Waterfalls in Goa," he explains. "On our travels we usually look out for some different angles to take photographs. This one stood out! The picture of me 'gulping water' looks refreshing on a hot summer's afternoon."

Next we have this image from Sourav Mallik of Kolkata. "This red dragonfly is on a termite-infested stick," he says.

Sumit Sachdeva sent in this next one, saying, "I clicked this picture near our house in Gurgaon. It was an extremely hot afternoon, with the temperature touching 48 degrees. This donkey found the perfect refuge in a large drain pipe to get away from the heat. Now that is what I call a smart ass!"

Zubair from Saudi Arabia wanted us to publish this striking photograph. "I have taken these pictures in Abha, Saudi Arabia," he explains. "I clicked it while driving the car. Abha is at a high altitude of nearly around 2,500-3,000 feet above sea level, hence the natural colour of the sky."

And here is Bangalore-based Abhilash N's contribution. "Summer means power cuts," he says. "This picture was taken during a family function when there was a sudden power cut. That's what summer brings to our state, heavily reliant on hydroelectric power!"
