We invited you, our dear readers, to share your 2 States stories with us and we've been inundated with your responses.

Today Ravi Goyal shares his story:

My wife, Anurag comes from Gujarat; I hail from Punjab.

We met in Hyderabad at the pharmaceutical company where were employed.

We were working in the same group so it wasn't long before we got to know each other better and became good friends.

At the time, we never thought about marriage or love.

We used to go for a movie or lunch together but that was that.

I hadn't realised then that I had begun falling for her.

Then one day, my parents called up. They had selected a match for me and I was to give my approval.

I visited my hometown the next week and we visited the girl's house.

As is the tradition, we were ushered into a separate room where we were left to talk about each other.

Suddenly I began missing my friend in Hyderabad.

Yet on the insistence of my parents, I went to visit another girl and I realised that I was looking for Anurag in her too.

I was confused.

And so I left for Hyderabad immediately.

The next day, I reached work. She began teasing me about my 'engagement'.

Reluctantly, I told her everything. At the end of it, she left the room. We didn't talk that entire day.

The next day I proposed marriage to her. And she accepted :-)

The next hurdle was our parents.

I made the call to my parents explaining the situation to them.

At first they were angry but eventually they agreed to the match.

The same scene was repeated at her house.

Since we are from the same religion, things were a little easier for us.

In 2008, we got married.

The following year, we had our son, Anurav -- 'Anu', from his mother's name and 'Rav' from my name! :-)

Are you a north Indian who's married a south Indian or vice versa?

How did you two meet?

How did your families react?

Was there enough drama for a Bollywood movie or a bestselling book? :-)
