Here are the beautiful ladies from across the world who made it to Vanity Fair's prestigious International Best-Dressed List for 2013.

It's that time of year again -- magazine Vanity Fair has released its annual round-up of international celebrities who've made the best impression, sartorially speaking.

This is the publication's 74th annual round-up of stylish fashionistas and features the who's who from across the fields of fashion, entertainment, politics and business.

In the following pages, we bring you the famous women who made the cut.

Kerry Washington

The actress has been turning heads with each red carpet appearance in the last few months and took the top spot this year, beating out last year's winner the Duchess of Cambridge.

Despite losing her crown, new mother Kate is still a fashion force to be reckoned with, coming in close on Washington's heels. Maybe she'll emerge victorious once again in 2014?

Carmen Dell'Orefice

The world's oldest working model at 82, Dell'Orefice's sense of dressing has aged as gracefully as she has, putting her right after the Duchess.

Victoria Beckham

The pop star turned fashion designer has cemented her reputation as a style icon; her creations sell out like hot cakes among the A-list crowd, not to mention that women across the globe are forever trying to emulate her.

When it comes to couture couples, the Brazilian bombshell and her footballer husband are placed highest by Vanity Fair, right after Mrs Beckham.

Dree Hemingway

The model-actress and great-granddaughter of author Ernest Hemingway is forever experimenting with her look on the red carpet and her statuesque frame helps her carry off most unique choices.

Beyonce

Queen bee Bey is up next, thanks to her bold and beautiful wardrobe and, we're guessing, her bootylicious curves, which complement practically any outfit under the sun.

Tank Magazine's executive fashion director Caroline Issa is known for her take on street style and she's highly popular on fashion blogs, to the extent that she even landed a modelling stint with J.Crew.

Ricky Lauren

It's her husband Ralph Lauren who's a legend in the industry, but as his muse and wife of 49 years, Ricky is definitely one of the best-dressed women in the world.

The 32-year-old Russian fashion entrepreneur and socialite is no stranger to best-dressed lists and this one is only another feather in her cap.

The second royal to impress Vanity Fair after Kate, the Spanish princess' sophisticated choices seem to echo her British counterpart's taste.

Not many literary figures are known to pay close attention to their wardrobes, but this New York-based novelist is certainly an exception.

One of Kate Middleton's go-to designers joins her on the list, albeit quite a ways down; Alice Temperley's creations are a big hit with the fashion elite and so, apparently, is she.

The third member of a royal family to rate well with the magazine, the newlywed princess is always well turned out -- and her wedding gown has created quite the bridal buzz too.

Peng Liyuan

The Chinese First Lady's inclusion in the Vanity Fair list is probably the most talked-about this year.

Not only has Peng Liyuan managed to go one better than Michelle Obama, who's been a no-show among the best-dressed ladies for two years in a row now, she's also the first Chinese woman in a position of prominence to feature in 70 years!

Her predecessor was the formidable Soong Mei-ling, wife of former President Chiang Kai-shek who was among the magazine's best-dressed in 1943.
