Find out who all turned up at designer Shaheen Abbas' jewellery launch in town.

Mumbai-based Gehna Jewellers recently had a star-studded accessories launch by celebrated jewellery designer Shaheen Abbas.

Titled 'The Magic of the Mashrabiyas', the designs from Abbas' collection were inspired from exquisite ancient Arabic architecture.

Having been part of the industry for seven years designing precious and semi precious jewellery, Abbas has managed to find her place in the sun.

The entire collection, which she designed exclusively for Gehna is an assorted mix of cuffs, bracelets, neck pieces, earrings and rings, all crafted in diamonds.

According to Shaheen, "Life is too short to wear boring jewellery!"

Needless to say, the launch was a starry affair with celebrities from the television and film world dropping by to congratulate the designer.

Actor Aditi Rao Hydari who wore a plain twin-toned pink and red combo sari made quite a few heads turn that evening.

Designed by Payal Singhal, Hydari teamed the six-yard drape with a sleeveless printed open-back (not seen in the picture) blouse.

The chandelier diamond earrings aptly completed the look. Overall, we think, she looked stunning!

Meanwhile Neha Dhupia wore a royal blue skirt and paired it with a black V neck sleeveless top.

We won't be surprised if someone told us that her big blue bag and snake-skinned pumps would have taken most of the attention that evening.

Model and VJ Mini Mathur who's off late taken a liking to wearing the six-yard wonder at most events, tells you exactly how to play with bright colours, like you can see in this picture above.

Despite wearing a bright yellow silken saree with red borders, Mathur brings in a vibrant pop of purple with a traditional batua and neck piece.

Shaheen who looked every bit the diva that she is, wore a bright red Amit Aggarwal dress to the event.

With her hair neatly pinned up behind her, the designer sure let her dazzling diamond jewellery do all the talking.

Unlike her peers who were in keeping with the latest trends, actor Shruti Seth went completely retro from top to bottom.

She wore a white and black bordered cotton saree and teamed it with leaf patterned danglers, beaded jewellery and plain gold bangles that looked quite elegant on her.

And two thumbs up to the idea of pinning a yellow flower in that braided hair.

Dia Mirza chose a subtle cream coloured full-sleeved anarkali for the event.

Before we could complain about her choice of quirky black and white printed dress, Mandira Bedi chose to divert our attention with the bright red purse and matching pumps.

With that bright smile of hers, she managed to give us just the right amount of respite we needed.

Suchithra Pillai was either not in the mood to pose or she woke up directly from bed and made it to the event.

Either way, we wished the actor to have smiled, for that would have clearly lit up this plane Jane Lucknowi embroidered white kurta and crumbled bright orange pants ensemble.
