We caught up with designer Anupamaa Dayal at Lakme Fashion Week. Here, she gives us the dope on India's most fashion-conscious divas!

What is it that makes Aishwarya Rai tick? Why does Sonam Kapoor always look so fresh? Fashion designer Anupamaa Dayal lists out some of the style icons she's come across in India.

Sonam Kapoor: Young, stunning

The thing with Sonam is that she is constantly reinventing herself. She doesn't have that typical 'Bollywood' look and is very open to experimenting. She's young, she's stunning and very, very stylish.

Simone never tries too hard. She doesn't believe she has to be skinny or six feet tall. And that is possibly the reason why she looks so lovely all the time.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is one who really defies style. It isn't like she has a great sense of dressing but she works everything she wears so beautifully. With Aishwarya, it's gone beyond style. It's more to do with the beauty of the woman.

I find Nita Ambani very, very attractive. I suppose it's that beauty that comes from within. And that is the true kind of beauty.

Lakme model Indrani Dasgupta has that Indian look that she works in a modern way. She keeps changing her look and that's what makes her so contemporary and stylish.

Lisa Haydon is someone who has a fantastic body and shows it! Many women are afraid of showing off their bodies...even if they have one to flaunt. Lisa isn't like that.

Yet again, a very fashion conscious person. She's known to source her designs from Pakistan and all over the subcontinent. She's updated about the weavers not just in India but also in our neighbourhood. Shabana loves to dress up, has a great dressing sense and carries it off very well.

Meera Ali, is always well-turned out and has that Lucknowi look about her. I believe she wears her own designs, which she is able to carry off very stylishly.
