Designer Nimish Shah presented his collection at Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2012.

Nimish Shah's Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2012 collection brought to centre stage the coordinated as well as the mix and match separates that his label "Shift" is so well known for.

The inspiration for Nimish was a woman's perfect childhood wardrobe as he allowed the wearer to blend different garments and present one's individual styles.

The separates reinvented kids' play clothes with summer dresses, midi skirts and cute feminine tops all coming together to form a great Summer/Resort story.

The colour card revolved around sunny pink, lime, sky blue and khaki with lots of retro floral prints added.

There was a hint of active wear which was seen in shapes and structures from the 60s and 70s eras.

Using fabrics that are specially created and have the GOTS certification the khadi and signature textiles were exclusively created for the collection.

Floral printed off shoulder blouses and dresses, high waist shorts or floppy comfy trousers, unstructured cotton jackets, hooded pinafores, trek jackets, drop waist sacks in prints and plain and cute summer empire line frocks, told the story of retro fashion with a girlie look.

Mixing the prints, stripes and solids often in one garment, Nimish had a fun filled, easy on the eye and big on comfort collection, which was accessorised with soft summer caps, roomy bags and trendy flat shoes.
