The traditional art form of Ilkal, a small town in Karnataka known for its saris, was brought to the stage by Deepika Govind on the third day of the Lakme Fashion Week.

The collection was heavy on colour -- at times a little over the top too -- even as it used cotton and silk quite extensively.

Weaves from places as varied as Salem, Chettinad, Narayanpet and Kanchivaram among other places in South India found their way on the ramp thanks to Deepika Govind.
