The Duchess of Cambridge, Catherine Middleton and Prince William, Duke of Cambridge leave the King Edward VII hospital where she has been treated for hyperemesis gravidarum, extreme morning sickness at King Edward VII Hospital on December 6, 2012 in London, England

The Duchess of Cambridge was discharged yesterday after receiving three days' treatment for acute morning sickness.

Ever since St James' Palace confirmed on Monday that Kate Middleton is pregnant, headlines across the world have been dominated by the news.

The Duchess, not yet 12 weeks along, had been admitted to hospital on account of acute morning sickness, a condition called hyperemesis gravidarum.

Fortunately, she seems in good health after her hospital stay and upon being discharged from the King Edward VII hospital in central London yesterday, smiled at mediapersons and the well-wishers assembled.

"'I'm feeling much better, thank you," she responded to inquiries after her health.

Kate was immaculate as ever, dressed warmly in a checkered coat, scarf and boots with her hair neatly done. She was also carrying a bouquet of yellow flowers.

Prince William accompanied his wife, attentively placing an arm behind her as she approached the hospital steps. He looked rather relieved after what must have been an anxious few days for him and the royal family.

It is believed that the Duchess has now settled into Kensington Palace for a few days of rest and relaxation as per her doctors' advice, and has cancelled all upcoming public engagements.
