The Indian wedding season has begun and to mark the beginning of the season, some of the country's top designers showed their bridal collections at the first ever Aamby Valley India Bridal Week in Mumbai.
We take a look at what the opening days had in store -- Manish Arora, Rocky S, Nisha Sagar, Anjali and Arjun Kapoor and Neeta Lulla. Adding to the glam factor were B-town beauties -- Dia Mirza, Kangana Ranaut, Shriya Saran and Urmila Matondkar.
First up was Manish Arora with a retrospective show featuring some of the designer's most accliamed creations over 2008-1010. Never one to stick to the conventional, Arora's designs were bright, extravagant and true to his style.

Seen here is a multihued cocktail dresses reminiscent of the 70's with its bell sleeves and psychedelic print.
Next up is this ruffled layered number. Now while quite an effort has gone into the making of this outfit, the silhouette is a little unconventional.
Taken from his Space Age collection this shimmery mini is sexy and fun! We're not so sure about the short cape though.
Now this outfit sure is a stunner! The sleek shimmery bodice gives way to vibrant patchwork -- all done to perfection.
And here the designer takes to the ramp at the end of his showing, surrounded by his creations.
The second to show on Day 1 was Rocky S with his bridal collection -- a line of finely crafted lehengas, elegant saris, contemporary kurtas and gowns along with sharp sherwanis, suits and Jodhpuri jackets. Check it out!
First up is Nethra Raghuraman in this red ensemble. While it does have a conventional touch to it thanks to the colour and embellishments. The choli is quite interesting -- a mix of halter neck and noodle straps.
Deep red and oh-so-sexy, this gown is fabulous. The sleek silhouette, rich tone and silver offset has perfect understated elegance.
The collection had a wide colour palette from old rose, to military green, sensuous nudes, chocolate, maroon and then neutral black, ivory, grey and beige.
Not the most traditional bridal outfit, this black velvet jacket over a layered slim skirt is pretty though.
The designer chose embellishments keeping in mind the bridal season, so matte sequins, resham, ghara work, sequin sheeting fur, crystal brooches, gold French lace, intricate cord and zardozi work lent the creations an opulent look.
And rounding things up was the designer with his showstopping number -- Dia Mirza, a vision in white!

Nisha Sagar's bridal line presented by the jewellery line of Parineeta on Day 2 was an extravagant affair.
Stunning blue, turquoise and emerald green were lavishly splashed with embroidery to create saris, lehengas, anarkali kurtas with churidars and salwars in shimmer georgette, chiffon, brocade and silk.
Seen here is model Indrani Dasgupta in a dare-to-bare ghagra choli, richly embellished and quite stunning.
Another dazzling creation -- a multi-hued ghagra with lace trim and heavily embellished dupatta replacing the traditional choli.
The first of her two showstoppers was Narmada Ahuja, actor Govinda's daughter, who wore a gorgeous navy/green chiffon gown with a backless crystal bodice and a long trailing pallav.
The designer takes in the well-deserved applause at the end of her showing on Day 2.

Second to show on Day 2 was designer duo Anjalee and Arjun Kapoor who presented an elegant line with graceful Victorian overtures.
Intricately crafted corsets, beautifully created pleats and drapes gave the utterly feminine ensembles an ethereal look. Dazzling with Swarovski crystals and jewelled elements, the embellishments added a sophisticated touch to the garments.
Tulle, lace, satin, chiffon, silk, in pretty pastel shades like nude, pale pink, grey, ivory, blue gradually moved to more vibrant hues of peach, wine, green, red and maroon.
Seen here is a pink ghagra choli with silver embellishment and net overlay -- delicate and very feminine!
Going for a bolder statement is this orange ensemble with rouched skirt.
The showstopper was the gorgeous Kangana Ranaut, who ended the show in a pink net layered scalloped fitted long skirt with a glittering choli encrusted with crystals, pearls and silver embroidery.

Winding up Day 2 were Neeta Lulla's bridal designs.
The collection offered up everything from double saris to evening gowns in fabrics such as silk, brocade, tulle, lace and velvet.
Kicking things off is this rich one-shouldered churidaar kurta set off by pretty silver embellishment along the border and dupatta.
Next up is Indrani Dasgupta in a gorgoeus sheer sari with silver and red embellishment.
Going for sheer opulence, Lulla presented this gown heavy on embroidery and zardosi work.
Actress Shriya Saran steps out in the showstopping number -- a pink ghagra choli heavily embroidered in silver thread and bead work.
