Carla in India: Like her style?

The ex-model and wife of French President Nicolas Sarkozy has kept things decidedly upmarket, with designer togs and classic French labels.

For her visit to the Indian Space Research Organisation that same day, the statuesque stunner donned a black button-down shirtdress to show off her slim figure -- and it also had a daring thigh-high slit up the front!

Casual cover-up
On December 5, the President and Carla paid a visit to the grave of Sufi saint Salim Chishti, the Fatehpur Sikri dargah. Aware of locals' religious sentiments, Carla left her skirts behind and opted for a pair of casual cotton pants, worn with a shirt. She also used a wine-coloured shawl to respectfully cover her head.

Demure cocktail
For dinner with our PM, Carla was back to her cocktail best in a little black dress and kitten heels.
It's good she didn't opt for stilettos, because the French First Lady seems to be towering over both Singhji and her husband! At 5'9", she's a good four inches taller than Sarkozy -- which, incidentally, was the same difference in height between Nicole Kidman and ex-hubby Tom Cruise.

Pretty in pants
Yesterday, the French First Lady ventured out on her own, to visit HIV positive mothers and healthcare workers at New Delhi's Safdarjung Hospital. She looked as attractive as ever but her outfit, a blue pantsuit, was suitably understated.

Last evening, she was decked out in a feminine grey number accentuated with a becoming blue satin clutch to attended a gathering of the French community in New Delhi.

Sober style
Carla accompanied President Sarkozy to Mumbai this morning, where they attended a tribute to the victims of the 2008 terror attacks. Once again her wardrobe met the purpose of the occasion -- she successfully pulled off a de-glam but fresh look in a ruffled shirt, pants and ballet flats.
