These come loaded with features that help apart from the crowd. Here is our list for the top 10 smartphone cameras currently available.

Apple iPhone 5
Price: Rs 45,500

Apple's latest smartphone features a camera with an 8MP sensor, autofocus, LED flash and face detection. You can also tap to focus on images and record full 1080p video at 30 frames per second.

It also offers video stabilisation, which helps when taking moving video or shots. The newest feature of iPhone 5 is the Panorama, which allows the camera to stitch together several images and create one long scrolling image.

The presence of a 1.2MP FaceTime front camera allows for 720p video, which can be used for video chats.

The LG Optimus G features a 13MP sensor on its camera, with continuous autofocus, HDR and LED flash. The camera functions quite well in low light photography and captures a good amount of detail in its shots. It can also record 1080p video at 30 frames per second.

Some of the more interesting features are the 'Cheese Shot', which takes a picture when you say the word 'Cheese' and 'Time Catch' which takes five pictures from the time you click the shutter button.

Burst Shot and Panorama modes are also present.

The large amount ofMPs allows the sensor to pack in a denser amount of detail in normal 8MP shots. It also features red eye reduction, and an image editor. Though the phone itself is underpowered and even a bit outdated, the camera is one of the best available today.

The camera's main claim to fame is the optical image stabilisation it utilises while capturing 1080p, 30 frames per second video and its lowlight photography. The latter is capable of capturing photos in the complete absence of light which the dual LED flash helps with.

It also boasts an image editor and multi-scene modes.

Despite featuring a 4MP sensor, HTC decided to put forth new imaging technology for its recent flagship phone. The HTC One thus uses 'UltraPixel' technology, which uses a bigger BSI sensor to capture more details. This is combined with autofocus, LED flash and optical image stabilisation for low-light photography and video recording.

The new ImageChip 2 further enhances image quality and allows HDR video recording at 1080p. The 2.1MP front camera is also equipped with HDR and can capture 1080p video. Perhaps the most interesting innovation is HTC Zoe, which generates a short video clip composed of roughly 20 high-resolution images.

HTC's ImageChip brings simultaneous video recording and picture taking, while the Snapdragon S4 Pro provides plenty of speed when taking multiple pictures.

Like its Android brethren, the HTC 8X features a dedicated ImageChip. There is also an 8MP illuminated sensor with wide angle lens, autofocus and a dedicated camera button.

It can record 1080p video at 30 frames per second. It is missing a large number of features from the One series, like HRD, panorama and burst mode. It does have PhotoSync which can create a 360-degree panorama and PhotoStrip, which shoots five images one second apart and then connects them together into a single strip.

The other unique feature is Bing Vision, which scans CDs, DVDs, barcodes for gathering information.
