The next generation of Nexus 10 seems to be ready for its launch anytime this month. Although, there is no fix release date by Google, EVLeaks(@evleaks), known for providing accurate gadget leaks, posted a tweet which has sparked rumours for its release with the Google Nexus 5.

The first generation Nexus 7, co-developed by Asus on Google's behalf, has been an extremely popular tablet since launching last year. Google set something of a benchmark by pricing the Nexus 7 at an affordable price despite its decent build and specifications.

Consequently, this year in July, Google came up with second generation Nexus 7, an upgraded version of the previous Nexus tablet.

The Nexus 10, a 10-inch tablet manufactured by Samsung, was revealed in November 2012. Google seems to be set to launch the next generation Nexus 10 device.

Rumours are there that Google is ditching Samsung and has tied up with Asus for the production of its new 10-inch tablet.

Hardware

There has been no official news from Google whether who will make Nexus 10 device. But sources claims that Taiwanese electronic company Asus will co-develop it with Google.

An eminent source of the leak is @evleaks, who posted a picture of what seems to be an internal document.

Evleaks is a twitter-based tipster whose watermarks have become so commonplace in the mobile space that companies occasionally include his imagery in official marketing material.

Design

There seem to be a legit reason why Google is going away from Samsung. Samsung devices could not stand in terms of its build quality. Albeit, they took the smartphones industry to the next level but they could not survive in terms of design. And maybe this is why Google seems to move away.

No doubt Apple have the best devices for their eye-popping design. They set the standards and propelled to top position with their bold and sleek make. On the other hand, Nexus devices are customer’s preference due to Google’s own Android mobile OS and affordable pricing.

Many tech enthusiasts believe that Asus has the potential to stand a chance against Apple.

Enhanced Specs

The original Nexus 10 runs on 1.7 GHz dual-core Samsung Exynos 5250 ARM Cortex-A15 processor. The newer version is expected to have a quad core Snapdragon 800 processor.

It also boasts of13-hour battery life that means you can’t kill it at one go.

The tablet is also expected to have a SD card reader, unlike its predecessor, and a USB 3.0 port.

It is reported that the new Google Nexus 10 will be released alongside Google Nexus 5 and Android's new OS KitKat.

With every new software update, Google has come up with new and improved software and functionalities.

One of the features that is lacking in the current Nexus 10 is LTE support.

There is a buzz that the second generation Nexus 10 will include this particular feature that allows you to surf web at a much higher speed.

OS Update

Google, in July this year, launched the new Nexus 7 tablet running Android 4.3 Jelly Bean which came with features like restricted profiles, Bluetooth smart ready, dial-pad auto-complete, etc.

The upcoming device could be the first one to come up with the next generation Android 4.4 OS codenamed as KitKat. Reports are there that Android KitKat will have an enhanced camera app that will feature filters like photo editing app Instagram.

Although Google has announced the name of Android 4.4, it hasn't given any detail on what changes and features KitKat will bring.

Conclusion

After teaming up with Asus for its first variant of Nexus 7, Google will likely return to the Taiwan-based manufacturer for the next generation Nexus 10.

The new Google Nexus 10 is expected soon. Right now on Google Play the 16GB version of old Nexus 10 tablet costs $399 and 32GB variant costs $499.

The search engine giant will likely drop the price of the older tablet to clear its stocks before the new tablet arrives. If you are planning to buy one, it is your choice depending on what your pocket allows.
