The much awaited Apple iPhone 5 is finally reaching India today.

Although Apple's India partners have confirmed the news, Apple is yet to make the formal announcement.

While Redington India and Ingram Micro are among the leading distributors of the iPhone 5, Redington has revealed that the iPhone 5 will retail at Rs 45,500 for 16GB, Rs 52,500 for 32GB and Rs 59,500 for 64GB versions.

Both the distributors will be responsible for providing the device to the two Apple carriers, namely Aircel and Airtel.

Meanwhile, in the US, the iPhone 5 is priced at $649 (Rs 35,000 approximately) for the 16GB version, while the 32GB and 64GB variants will be available at $749 (Rs. 40,000 approx) and $849 (Rs 45,000 approx) respectively.

Among the operators in India, Airtel, Vodafone and MTNL are reported to offer nano-SIMs for the iPhone 5.

In fact, Airtel had already started taking pre-orders for the iPhone 5 since the last few weeks.

Among the other Apple products, the iPad mini and fourth-generation iPad are now available for pre-orders in select countries.

Since the announcement of the iPhone 5, the price of Apple's earlier models -- the iPhone 4S and iPhone 4 -- has also significantly reduced in the Indian market. While the iPhone 4S is available at Rs 38,500, the iPhone 4 now retails at Rs 26,500.
