Fifth generation iPad, second generation iPad Mini, an upgraded MacBook Pro and souped up OS X Mavericks could be unveiled tomorrow at Apple’s October 22 special event, says Vijay Satti.

After releasing iPhone 5S and 5C recently, Apple seems to be in a hurry to cover much more. The company will hold its much talked about iPad event on October 22, reported AllThingsD. Apple confirmed this by issuing media invitations for its October 22 special event where the company is expected to introduce its fifth generation iPad and second generation iPad mini models.

If rumours prove correct, then we can also expect Mac Pro and OS X Mavericks related announcements too.

The event will be held at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco and will begin at 10 am Pacific Time (10 pm IST). The invitation graphics reads: ‘We still have a lot to cover’. This hints that a variety of things will be covered at this event.

1. Fifth generation iPad

Last year this time we saw the refreshed version of iPads. So, it is certain that on October 22 we will see the new line of the product.

The 9.7-inch tablet is expected to be slimmed down. Leaked photos suggest that the next iPad will borrow heavily from the iPad mini’s design.

Specifications wise, the flagship iPad is expected to be upgraded to 64-bit A7 chipset from A6X. This processor is highly optimised for the high resolution Retina display.

Apart from that, Apple seems to be bringing the new Touch ID fingerprint sensor technology to the iPad as well.

Rumours are floating that the new iPad could also get gray, silver and gold colour bodies with upgraded 8-megapixel camera.

It will soon be clear what the company has to offer tomorrow.

2. Second generation iPad Mini

The most anticipated one is iPad mini, which could get high resolution Retina display. The current 7.9-inch tablet has LED display which certainly is expected to be upgraded. We have heard that the processor will be upgraded to A6 and not A7, at least this year.

Apple doesn’t seem to bring Touch ID fingerprint sensor to the iPad Mini.

IPad Mini is a lower priced tablet and it has direct competition with Google Nexus 7. So this could be one reason Apple could comprise with some hardware upgrades to keep its price low. Nexus 7 is a strong competitor so Apple has to make a balance between price and features.

3. Upgraded MacBook Pro

iPads are not the only device to take the centre stage on October 22.

Apple could launch MacBook Pro with Retina display as well as Intel Haswell processor. Earlier this year MacBook Air received Intel’s latest Haswell chips which showed a stunning boost in battery life and graphical processing.

4. OS X Mavericks

Apple has already dropped the price on OS X updates. So it is clear that the latest OS is ready to be launched.

The company, earlier this month, launched the Golden version of the OS X Mavericks for developers. With this, the new OS X upgrade could get an immediate launch date following the event.

That's all friends.

Now that we have also made predictions, just like everyone else, based on the information available, let’s see how likely they come true.

Tomorrow will be the day!
