BlackBerry Playbook officially in India on June 22

All Apple-haters may just have a good reason to rejoice.

If rumours are to be believed, Apple's greatest rival -- Research in Motion -- is set to launch the BlackBerry Playbook in Mumbai on June 22.

The tablet that is being marketed as being 'ultra portable (and) super convenient' is 130mm long and 194mm wide with a depth of 10mm. It weighs 425g and has a 7" LCD display with a 1024 x 600 screen resolution.

With a 1 GHz dual-core processor, 1 GB RAM, GPS and a micro USB port it promises to give 'uncompromised web' experience with 'games, media, apps and everything the real Internet offers'.

It is Adobe Flash 10.1 enabled and has a built-in support for HTML 5.

Unlike the iPad1, it will have dual camera -- 3 MP high-definition forward-facing and 5 MP high-definition rear-facing making video conferencing easy.

Interestingly local electronics stores have already started displaying Playbook boxes with the pricing starting at Rs 27,990 for 16GB 32990 for 32GB and 37990 for 64GB.
