For those who missed the live chat, here's the transcript.

mindovermatters asked, do you think there is enough time left to crack SNAP 2011? only two weeks left to prepare? what should be my strategies? pls help

Aziz Manva answers, at 2011-11-29 16:03:30Yes...there is...SNAP is generally considered to be the simplest of all the major MBA exams. The first thing that you should do is to ensure that you solve the actual SNAP paper for the last 2 years to get an exact feel of the paper pattern difficulty level etc...Based on that you can start solving questions and revising concepts
mindovermatters asked, thank you... but does SNAP have negative marking? how many questions must one attempt and how many correct responses to get a good percentile?

Aziz Manva answers,
Yes...SNAP does have negative marking. Don't have preconceived strategies about how many questions to answer...the reason being that SNAP sometimes has differential marking per section. For instance, last year SNAP had 2 marks per questions for LR and 1 mark per question for all the other questions. So, anyone attempting more of LR would have got very good marks.
Hi asked, what are the eligibility criteria for SNAP

Aziz Manva answers,
You should either be a graduate or a final year student from any UGC approved university
Aakash asked, Which colleges under the banner of Symbiosis are good and worth applying?

Aziz Manva answers,
For a general MBA, you could try SIBM or SCMHRD. They are quite good. For a specialised MBA, SIOM, SITM and SIIB are good
Racheal asked, Does SNAP have certain categories of questions that they prefer over others? As in do they focus on specific topics in Quant, VA etc?

Aziz Manva answers,
Generally, Quant in SNAP is very Arithmetic focused while Verbal is much more grammar and vocabulary focused. However, the LR in SNAP is more like NMAT and MHCET i.e. quite simple
Ronn asked, Any suggestions on GK for SNAP

Aziz Manva answers,
THe SNAP GK is mainly current affairs and trivia. So, just keep yourself updated on latest happenings in various fields over the last few months
nottyn asked, is it good to pursue MBA at symbiosis? why does it call itself an international university? what facilities do they offer?

Aziz Manva answers,
It is ok if you do your MBA from SIBM or SCMHRD. For facilities, it is best to check with someone actually studying at Symbiosis. They will be best equipped to tell you about facilities.
vijay asked, how to prepare for snap... which course is better... executive mba or full time?

Aziz Manva answers,
If you are planning to do your MBA from Symbiosis then definitely the full time course is better. If you are genuinely interested in the executive programs, then you could try the IIMs or ISB
Hi asked, is there any % criteria

Aziz Manva answers,
According to us, it is a minimum of 50% in your graduation for General category students and 45% for Reserved category students
Hi asked, those who have 49 are they eligible

Aziz Manva answers,
Only if they are from the reserved category. If you are in your general category, you can be eligible only if you are in your final year of graduation and can increase your percentage to above 50% in the final exam

'Part-time MBAs add academic value to your CV'

Last updated on: December 1, 2011 17:50 IST

Kavita asked,
Can you please tell me the weightage of all three categories ?

Aziz Manva answers,
Last year, Verbal, Quant and GK were for 40 marks each while LR was for 60 marks
Kavita asked, Do Symbiosis has tie up with any of the Industries or do they help us in placements?

Aziz Manva answers,
If you are in the full time MBA in Symbiosis then there will be a systematic placement process, through which can get through in a company of your choice
andy asked, Can you recommend readings for GK in view of SNAP?

Aziz Manva answers,
Mainly follow up on current affairs in political, business, entertainment and India based news. Just keep yourself updated on major events of this year
parvati asked, hi sir, what career scope do part time MBA's have and do they add any academics value,

Aziz Manva answers,
Part time MBAs are very useful if you want to have a functional change or growth in your career. They also add academic value on your CV.
Hi asked, i have more than 3yr IT experience am i eligible for this

Aziz Manva answers,
As long as you clear the academic criteria, there is no restriction on work experience. So, how much work experience you have will not really make a big difference
parvati asked, thankyou Aziz, but i also wanted to ask you there are many colleges which promises of placement after completion of course, what are the points we need to check in to this before taking admission

Aziz Manva answers,
You should speak to some student from SNAP to check what companies come to campus for placement, what kind of profiles are offered, whether the job offered is in the parent company or some outsourced entity, what is the proportion of take away salary compared to the salary quoted on campus, etc. If you ask them these questions, you get a fair idea of the actual placement scene
Hi asked, k then i think m not eligible for this could you please suggest any other option

Aziz Manva answers,
Most colleges will have some academic criteria. However, we will need some time to check institutes that don't have such a criteria.
Aziz Manva says, Thank you for your questions. Hope to see you again next time. Wish you all the best!
