After 10 long years, Bajaj Auto has finally unveiled the next generation Pulsar, which is not only a huge step forward but will redefine the motorcycle industry.

The new Pulsar is based on an all new platform and has almost nothing common to the current Pulsar. The bike will go on sale by April and will spawn more platforms for the Pulsar series, including a 350cc version in 2013 and a faired version soon.

So what is the whole P200 NS all about?

From the styling, the design is all new and it looks good indeed.

The streetfighter look is attractive and the headlight seems to be from the FZ.

The side is pure naked, while the rear is a slightly modified P135LS.

Overall the new Pulsar looks a lot like the Honda CB1000RR! But we are not complaining and we love the looks of the machine, specially the alloy wheels and under seat exhaust.

The speedometer is all new as well, with the tachometer now being in the center.

Vital details are displayed on the instrument cluster and the center tacho puts the attention of the rider where it matters the most -- the engine speed.

The engine is where the biggest change comes. The engine is a 200cc, 4-valve unit with 3-valves (tri-valve technology).

This is a segment first and the liquid cooled motor produces 23.5 BHP of power and 18.3 Nm of torque.

This results in 0-60 km/h in just 3.61 seconds and 0-100 kmph in 9.83 seconds.

Top speed is 136 kmph.

Other features of the Bajaj Pulsar 200 NS include petal discs (280mm front, 230mm rear), monoshock suspension, perimeter frame, 6-speed gearbox, 12-liter tank and 145 kgs weight.

This lends it a power to weight ratio of around 160 BHP per liter, which is amazing for the price.

The Pulsars have always been about value and the new 200 NS will be no different. The next generation Pulsar shares vital components with the Duke 200 to save on costs.

Furthermore Bajaj has used a UCD 33 carb to save on costs and thus price this machine aggressively.

Speaking of which a sub Rs 1 lakh pricing is expected!
