The Hero MotoCorp HX250R is poised to take on Yamaha YZF-R25. Find out how!

Hero MotoCorp HX250R and Yamaha YZF-R25, the two ultimate entry-level performance bikes that are yet to make their presence in the Indian market.

Both the machines are designed to reign the Indian market and are potent enough to grab a bigger pie of the market share.

Yamaha YZF-R25 has been launched in Indonesia while Hero MotoCorp HX250R was showcased at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo.

However there is no official information about their launch as of now.

The new future entrants, whenever they'd be available, are capable enough to shake the roots of current motorcycles available in the country. 

Engine and Performance

Hero MotoCorp HX250R carries a single-cylinder mill with an amazing power output of 31PS and torque of 26Nm, which is the maximum for a mono-cylinder mill.

Besides, Yamaha YZF-R25 incorporates a two-cylinder engine that is tuned to generate best in class power of 36PS with 22.6Nm of peak torque.

Coupled with the liquid coolers, both the motors are dominating its competitors.

Yamaha claims its machine to have a rev up till 14000rpm.

Technically, both the engines are configured at its best to receive optimum power and mileage count.

Design

Hero MotoCorp HX250R is designed exactly as a sports bike should be with sharp and pleasing aesthetics.

On the other hand, Yamaha YZF-R25 looks modified and more attractive model than R15, which is itself very enticing.

Both the manufacturers found telescopic for the front and mono-cross for the rear appropriate to equip with.

Hero has anti-lock brake system as optional for the bike and it is speculated that Yamaha will also make ABS as an option for the customers.

Appearance

Hero MotoCorp HX250R has sharp detailing with enhanced aerodynamics but as Yamaha has a better hold on to the designs for a sports bike, Yamaha YZF-R25 sports more robustness and punch than the Hero.

Still, the HX250R will captivate the people with its elegant yet aggressive appearance just as R25 will do with its super sport outfit.

Both the manufacturers have incorporated the machines with the best of their innovations and have turned it into a jaw dropping motorcycle.

Market response

Market response will depend on the prices of these machines: Hero MotoCorp being a mono-cylinder machine is expected to sport a price tag below Rs 2 lakh, while Yamaha YZF-R25, which has two-cylinder engine is launched in Indonesia at Rs 2.69 lakh.

Those willing to pay more will surely go for the R25 but people who crave for a powerful and atrocious machine will happily choose the HX250R.

As stated earlier both the machines are yet to mark their presence in the country.
