Must See: Fascinating pics of flamingos

February 02, 2020 10:11 IST

Rediff reader Muralikrishna who attended the Flamingo Festival 2020 held at Pulicat Lake and Nelapattu Bird Sanctuary in Sullurpeta Mandal, Vellore, Andhra Pradesh shares his pics.

"I am an avid follower of the flamingo festival and for past six years I have never been disappointed with the quantum and range of birds that arrive. It is a bird watcher’s paradise," writes Muralikrishna.

"Nelapattu Bird Sanctuary is located around 100 km from Chennai on NH-5 (Chennai-Kolkata Highway) and comes after 20 km from Sullurpeta.

"This place is a must visit for bird lovers and photographers. If you are visiting Pulicat Bird Sanctuary then definitely visit Nelapattu Bird Sanctuary.

"The best time to visit is between November to February, but I have seen its peak ending in January," adds the Chenni-based adventure enthusiast and a commercial photographer.
