It's not such a good idea to undermine yourselves (and other women) with these words and phrases.

Read on to find out which of these you are using...

1. Am I making sense?

How often do you end up asking yourself this question?

At times, you choose to stay mum and avoid voicing your opinion just because you fear being judged.

Good or bad, you need to understand that your opinion matters.

So the next time, instead of asking yourself this question, just speak your mind.

2. Do I look fat in this?

Did you wake up this morning, stand in front of the mirror and wonder if you are looking fat today?

How about telling yourself that you look beautiful from now on?

3. I'm sorry but...

Women, you do not need to give an apology when it is not warranted.

4. I'm no expert but....

You may not be an expert, but when someone is asking you for an opinion, just give it.

Oh why, do you feel the need to explain yourself all the time?

5. Just

Whenever women want to avoid expressing what they're feeling, they use 'just'.

It's time you said goodbye to the word and start telling people what you are actually thinking/feeling.

If someone has committed a mistake or hurt you, how on Earth are they supposed to know what the problem is if you keep replying with a 'just'?

6. I can't

Yes! You can. All you need to do is start believing in yourself.

7. Thanks

It's a really good idea to thank people. But do it only if there is a valid reason and the person deserves it.

8. It's fine

If everything is alright in your life, it is okay to say 'it is fine'.

But when things are not right, don't mask your feelings. Express them!

9. Have you lost/gained weight?

This is something women need to stop asking other women.

There are times when you meet someone after years, and instead of giving them a warm hug, you ask them 'if they have lost/gained weight?'

No one likes to be asked about their weight and a question like that can make someone really uncomfortable.

It's time we stopped being harsh on ourselves and others.

10. When are you getting married/planning kids?

Really! This International Women's Day make a promise that the next time you meet a friend/acquaintance/co-worker you'll not ask her when she is getting married or planning kids?

Being single is a choice a woman makes. Respect it!
