Video: Lara Dutta's prenatal yoga tips

Last updated on: May 16, 2012 10:39 IST

Bollywood beauty Lara Dutta, who became a proud mother of a baby girl, Saira four months ago, has launched a yoga DVD to help women get back in shape post pregnancy.

Talking about motherhood, the stunning actress said that a little bit of yoga exercises under the guidance of gynaecologists could help mothers who are keen to loose weight. Lara further added that continuous exercises and a strict workout routine has helped her maintain her shape despite giving birth to her daughter by C-section.

The DVD is about 50 minutes long and comprises of a 30-minute prenatal routine followed by two meditation techniques.

Lara has been an avid yoga practitioner for the last 10 years and being pregnant did not stop her from practising yoga. She conceived and developed this prenatal programme along with prenatal yoga expert Tonia Clark. This will be her fourth film in the wellness category.

Lara says "Yoga has always been an integral part of my life style. The benefits I have reaped from a constant practice have been invaluable to me. Being pregnant and carrying a child is a blessing unique to womankind and a mother instinctively wants the best for her child. I am delighted to share this very special routine and meditation practises with other expectant mothers and I'm sure just as I did, they too will thoroughly enjoy their time with their babies on their yoga mats".
