Ladies, do you feel complete with a man by your side too?

Kareena Kapoor Khan, the 'complete' woman

Kareena Kapoor says a woman cannot be complete without a man by her side.

Do you, dear ladies, feel incomplete without a man by your side too?

Or do you think it's a sexist and regressive remark? Tell us!

She is one of the highest-paid actresses in Bollywood and comes across as being fiercely independent so when Kareena Kapoor Khan, in her recent interview, said that a 'woman is incomplete if she doesn't have a man by her side', we couldn't help raise our eyebrows.

Wait a minute... so what happens to those of us who are perfectly happy living by ourselves?

Or -- and we aren't sure Mrs Kapoor Khan considered this -- those of us who... erm... swing the other way?

Kareena Kapoor Khan then suggests that a woman's pride 'is when she has a good man'.

Yes. A good man is a woman's pride. Not her career, not her achievements, but a good man.

She probably should have stopped there but she doesn't.

Here's more from the same interview (external link):

"A woman is known when she walks with her head held high, she is a good wife, she's a good mother."

Whoa!

Kapoor then goes on to admit that she is a 'little traditional' and that she loves it.

You would have hoped she'd let it go at this point but Mrs Kapoor Khan was on a roll!

"There's a time to get married, she tells the interviewer, "There's a time to date, there's a time to have children, there's a time for everything."

Of course! Because it's soooooo important to do things at the 'right time' than look for the right person, isn't it?

These are, she may say, her personal opinions.

But Kareena Kapoor Khan also happens to be one of the most influential people in this country.

By virtue of her status and her job, what she says reaches millions of people; several are her ardent fans.

You would think the 33-year-old actress would exercise discretion before sharing her pearls of wisdom with the rest of us. But why bother, right?

Because Kareena Kapoor Khan is a 'complete' woman and walks with her head held high not possibly because she's an independent woman but rather because she is a good wife.

We are outraged at these sexist and regressive remarks but that's just our opinion.

Do you, dear ladies, agree with Kareena Kapoor Khan?

Do you believe that a woman can never be complete without a man?
