The ultimate workout to look irresistible and feel great!

Valentine's Day is around the corner and here's a quick workout so you can feel good and look irresistible on the big day.

A week of working out will certainly not get you into the kind of shape you want. 

But Valentine's Day is just around the corner and it is as good a time as any other to get started on some sort of a routine.

Fitness trainer Brinda Sapat is here to tell you just how you can do that:


BURN!

Get your skin glowing with a 30 minute brisk walk, jog, cycle or a cardio DVD. Try to do this 5-6 days a week and also watch the fat melt!

TONE!

Nothing looks as good as a well-toned body.

Even if you have an unwanted amount of fat on you, toned muscles speak volumes so get pumping!

Doing combination exercises works the upper and lower body together, cutting workout time in half and is more functional too! Do them alternate days of the week.

 days rest in between is essential to allow the muscles to rest and shape up!

You will need a pair of medium weight dumbbells of 2 heavy bottle of water that are easy to hold, a mat and your favourite up tempo music.

Lunges with Lateral Raises
Sexy thighs and shoulders coming your way!

  • Stand with your right leg way ahead of the left. Hold dumbbells in both hands by your sides.
  • Bend both knees and lower your body towards the floor, keeping your back upright.
  • The front knee should be in line with the ankle and not cross over the toes.
  • As you come up to standing raise your arms out to the sides till they are in line with the shoulders.
  • Do 12 reps and switch legs for another 12.

Bent Over Rows with Rear Leg Raises
Beautiful back, arms and shaped up butt!

  • Stand with your feet together and dumbbells in both hands. Bend forwards from the hip.
  • Balance yourself on the right leg and take the left leg off the floor.
  • Bend your elbows and raise them to the back going past your waist as you simultaneously lift the leg up, squeezing your butt. Lower down.
  • Do 12 reps and switch legs.

Chest Flyes with Hip Raises
Cleavage galore and firm butt!

  • Lie on a mat with weights in your hands held up in line with your chest. Bend your knees and dig your heels into the floor.
  • Lower your arms out to the side in line with the shoulders, keeping your elbows soft.
  • Before you touch the floor raise the arms up and lift the hips.
  • Squeeze the chest and butt on the way up. Lower slowly.
  • Do 16 reps.

Plank- Hip Raises
Tighten your tummy!

  • Get into a plank position and hold it for 30 seconds.
  • Lift the hips and then lower back into plank.
  • Do 12- 16 reps.

Back hyperextensions with reverse flyes and alternate leg raises
Sexy back, top to bottom!

  • Lie on your tummy with arms stretched out at shoulder height (Dumbbells optional).
  • Raise your upper body, getting the chest off the floor, raise the arms up towards the ceiling and your right leg.
  • Squeeze the back muscles as you lift. Lower down and repeat, alternating legs.
  • Do 16 reps.
  • Repeat all exercises once again. Then stretch all the muscles and relax.

Tips and Tricks!

1. Work at your posture. Good alignment will make you look taller, slimmer and fitter!

It can literally seem to take inches off your waistline. Stand with your chin parallel to the floor. Your head should not push forward nor all the way back.

Pull your shoulders down and slightly backwards. Lift up your rib cage. You should look natural, not army like.

Put your lower back in neutral position; ie a normal curve should be maintained. Be conscious of your posture even when you sit.

2. Eat lots of salads and fruits.

3. Do your cardio routine a couple of hours before your date. This will make your complexion look radiant. The toning exercises will also give you a good last minute taut feeling.

4. Use baby oil to accentuate your newly acquired toned muscles.

5. Wear clothes that show off your best feature.

6. Smile and knock him dead!
