Nothing can possibly communicate the hectic activity that goes on behind the scenes of a fashion show. The make-up, the hair, the styling… and the sudden realisation just before you step on to the runway that something needs to be tucked in properly, a knot tied better, a pin readjusted…
For the last four days, Rajesh Karkera has bringing to us snapshots from the Lakme Fashion Week. As he goes around to the wings, he aims his camera at the beauties just before they are about to step on to the runway.

Confessedly, she one of our favourite models at the Lakme Fashion Week. In spite of all the pressures of being a fashion week model, Alesia Raut is always at ease, warm and forthcoming.

Much like Alesia Raut, Carol Gracias is a veteran model who is also cheerful at most times. This, unfortunately, isn’t one of those times.
Minutes before this picture was taken, Gracias was rather upset with a photographer for taking pictures of a model while she was changing! She awaits her turn in the wings just before Shilpa Chavan’s show on Day Two of the Lakme Fashion Week. (You can see Shilpa’s designs here!)
