For those who missed the live chat, here's the unedited transcript:

Nitesh Salvi says, Hello everyone. I am Nitesh Salvi, co-founder, Plancess. You may post your questions and I will try my best to answer them. We will start at 4 pm sharp Thank You
jee asked, hi, how much should i score to get into IIT?

Nitesh Salvi answers, at 2012-11-01 15:42:48
Hello, From now on to be in IIT, You have to clear two exams JEE Mains & JEE Advanced. Top 1,50,000 students from JEE Mains will be aligible fro JEE Advanced. Admissions to IITs will be based only on category-wise All India Rank (AIR) in JEE ADVANCED, subject to condition that such candidates are in the top 20 percentile categories of their respective class xii board. So dont focus on score and try to score maximum in your exams.
jee asked, why two exams? can you tell me how is mains different from advanced?

Nitesh Salvi answers,
Both Mains and Advanced will be MCQ type exams. Your Mains and boards result will count to get into NITs and Advanced result will get you into IITs. Mains will contains problems similar to AIEEE pattern and Advanced will be based on more conceptual problems similar to previous year IIT-JEE pattern.
jee asked, thank you nitesh. what strategy would you suggest for both the exams?

Nitesh Salvi answers,
cracking JEE requires clarity in basic concepts which is what board exams ask. Use the NCERT books as your concept revision tool. First complete chapter with full theory then try solving NCRT questions and then go for good questions for IIT-JEE.
harris asked, i think ISEET term is no longer used, anyway can JEE/Board be cleared without coaching ? is there any good correspondence course ?

Nitesh Salvi answers,
Yes it can be cleared with coaching classes. Make a good timetable and complete one topic with theory and then try solving NCRT problem. This will help you for boards and then start solving good and conceptual problems. Don't forget that only learning chapters will not take you anywhere, it is questions that you need to answer in the final
Ravi asked, Hi ... Guys just wanted to know if JEE won,t be conducted at all??

Nitesh Salvi answers,
Now on there will be two papers JEE Mains and JEE Advanced. To get into NITs JEE Mains and boards will count and to get into IITs JEE Advanced result will count after being in top 1.5 lacs in JEE Mains.
Ravi asked, Hello Nitesh, How ISEET is different from IIT-JEE ?

Nitesh Salvi answers,
ISEET is not different from IIT-JEE. They just reduced so many exams burden. JEE Mains will be similar to AIEEE and JEE Advanced will be kind of IIT-JEE.
kutariya asked, how much we need to study daily for this ?

Nitesh Salvi answers,
It totally depends on individual. Give your maximum input and try solving maximum problems. I am sure you will definitely succeed.
srinivas asked, how much a student of andhra pradesh state toscore in intermediate inorder to qualify

Nitesh Salvi answers,
See, to be in IIT first of all you have to be in top 1.5 lacs students in JEE Mains. Admissions to IITs will be based only on category-wise All India Rank (AIR) in JEE ADVANCED, subject to condition that such candidates are in the top 20 percentile categories of their respective class xii board. So it totally depends upon your board exams and student performance.
JOVIT asked, Hi please confirm the last date for submission of application

Nitesh Salvi answers,
To write JEE (Advanced) - 2013 all eligible candidates in JEE Mains should register through online at [http://jeeadv.iitd.ac.in/] during 8 May to 13 May, 2013.
harris asked, you may agree the pattern is now very stressful from what you faced. uncertainity in JEE/MAIN, Uncertainity in top 20 percentile plus studying hard for both board and JEE syllabus.

Nitesh Salvi answers,
See, I dont think there is any difference if you are preparing seriously for both boards and JEE. Course is same as before. If you are good enough in Physics, Chemistry and Maths then you can clear any exam.
Crrak asked, what is ISEET ?

Nitesh Salvi answers,
From now on to be in IIT, You have to clear two exams JEE Mains & JEE Advanced. Top 1,50,000 students from JEE Mains will be aligible for JEE Advanced. Admissions to IITs will be based only on category-wise All India Rank (AIR) in JEE ADVANCED, subject to condition that such candidates are in the top 20 percentile categories of their respective class xii board.

punu asked,
which subjects are better scoring?

Nitesh Salvi answers,
It totally depends on individual. You can score maximum in subjects you are good at. For many students chemistry is scoring subject.
harris asked, its not only about being good in PCM, percentile is decided including langauges and elective.

Nitesh Salvi answers,
Yes, you are right. But students from IITs, almost 80 per cent have above 80 percentile in their respective boards. So if you are preparing seriously then you can definitely score it.
Pratika asked, how to prepare for ISEET dats more important. please share your tips

Nitesh Salvi answers,
if you are focusing only on board exams, then getting a good rank in the ISEET has lesser probability because JEE requires more depth in knowledge of concepts. Make a timetable where every topic should be listed on a date. First complete the entire theory of that topic and then solve NCRT of the same topic. This will help you for the boards and yes, you should go for good and conceptual problem solving. If you have really prepared that topic for ISEET then you should be able to solve the problems of the NCERT book because they have the most basic questions.
