My dad's principle and advice was: Never borrow money, whether it's for business or personal use.

He taught me to try and save money, grow slowly and avoid debts, which I followed most of my life.

In October 2018, the exact time I borrowed a huge sum to purchase something beyond my capacity, my dad passed away. He was 75.

I was in debt and missed my dad's guidance.

There was tremendous pressure on me.

I can never forget the incident. I learnt my lesson the hard way.

Debt kills you; stay away from it and be within your limits.

I am teaching the same to my kids.

Saving (money) and avoiding debt is key to a happy life.
