Anonymous: Mam, can women have sex after menopause? She is 45 now.

Yes. Menopause is another phase of womanhood.

There may be dryness and depression as part of menopausal symptoms which need to be addressed through proper understanding and support.

Anonymous: I am a 56-year-old working professional struggling with post-menopausal problems and other associated issues like quick weight gain, especially around the belly. I am active otherwise. Please help.

A few things you can do:

  1. Choose balanced nutrition.
  2. Avoid high glycaemic index food.
  3. Have an early dinner by 6 pm.
  4. Indulge in a good physical workout.
  5. Avoid sugar completely.

S: Doctor, my wife got menopause and now her weight is increasing 20 per cent of her previous weight, particularly in the arms, thighs and b***.
Now she feels pain around her hip and struggles to get up from a sitting position.

What is the reason for this?

The reason for weight gain is always because you are taking in more calories and burning less.

There may be emotional eating too which needs to be addressed.

Please consult a nutritionist and a fitness physician to regulate her physical exercises.
