P N Pillay, 49, shares his experience. You can share yours too!

I went to the HDFC Bank ATM at Thakur Complex in Kandivali, Mumbai. I found the person entering the ATM before me taking a lot of time for his transaction.

When I inserted my card, I was in for a surprise. The card got stuck in between; it wasn't fully in or out.

I tried all the options at my disposal but to no avail. Finally I asked the security guard if he could help me.

He brought a screwdriver like tool and told me he can't bring it out.

But he could push it in.

I would then have to collect my card from the bank after 15 days or apply for a new one.

I had no other option but to agree.

He then pushed the card into the ATM (machine).

After that I tried some buttons. Suddenly out of the blue the card came out.

I was more than delighted. Even the security guard was surprised. He told me I was lucky. It doesn't come out usually.

I was relieved. I took my card and ran away.

Prior to it I was wondering if some tampering was done to extract the PIN and I would find money withdrawn from my account. Luckily that was not the case.
