Meet the GenNext designers who showcased their collection at Lakme Fashion Week.

Twice a year, a fresh batch of designers get to promote their work at one of the largest fashion events in the country.

The GenNext programme at Lakme Fashion Week is a perfect launchpad for budding talent.

This season, five designers were picked to open the fashion week.

Anurag Gupta

Hemangi Parte showcases a black and grey layered creation designed by Anurag Gupta. 
Gupta who's worked with Varun Bahl and Manish Arora presented a khadi inspired line featuring block prints and embroidery.

The palette was monochrome with sharp cuts. The Day and Night collection was inspired by Dutch artist MC Escher.

The duo explained that their designs were inspired from their travels.

Sanea Shaikh wears pleated pants with an oversized jacket from their collection.

AUR

Ajay Kumar Singh, a product of the National Institute of Fashion Design worked with digital and patchwork prints. 

SWAGT by Shweta Gupta

Shweta Gupta

Shweta's line was strong yet subtle. Sony Kaur models a textured pant paired with patchwork tunic and caped sleeves.

Gupta worked with chanderi, cotton silk and wool fabrics.

Yavi by Yadvi Agarwal 

Yavi

Yadvi's designs were like a breath of fresh air. The handpainted jackets and pleated hems were refreshing.

The Impressionism collection worked like magic on silk and organza.
