20-year-old Daria Fediunina is presently based out of Delhi and has walked for the Amazon Fashion Week 2015.

Anita Aikara/Rediff.com chats up with the Russian model, who walked the Lakme Fashion Week Summer Resort 2016 ramp for the first time.

When did you stumble in modeling?

I started at the age of 13. Right now I’m 20 and I have been modeling for the last seven years.

What’s special about LFW 2016?

It’s happening in Mumbai. And this marks my first visit to the beautiful city.

I’m very excited about walking this ramp. I love the clothes I wore for the Gen Next show; I love the silhouettes, the cuts, fabric. Lakme is a big fashion week and it is a matter of pride to walk for it.

How did you land your big break with LFW?

I went for the Delhi auditions and I was one of the six finalists. There were so many models out there, and I was delighted to be chosen as a finalist. I competed with some of the best Indian models and didn’t think I would make it through the auditions. I think the judges really liked my confidence.

How do you manage to stay so fit?

I always manage to find time to gym and stay healthy. Right now it is so hectic; you step out of one show and step into the other. So it is difficult to watch what you’re eating.

How do you define your personal style?

I don’t really follow big brands, but I like to wear what I am comfortable in.

Favourite designer

Yesterday was the opening show for Manish Malhotra and I was floored by his collection. It was really beautiful with such lovely garments.

Best part of modeling

To walk the ramp dressed in those gorgeous clothes.
