Tata scholarship for Indian women grads to study abroad

What: The Lady Meherbai D Tata Education Trust's scholarships to Indian women graduates of recognised Indian universities to pursue higher education abroad.

The Trust invites applications for the academic year 2012–2013 in the following fields of study:

  • Social work
  • Social science
  • Education
  • Education and welfare of children with special needs
  • Status health and empowerment of women
  • Gender studies
  • Child health, development, nutrition
  • Health policy and health education
  • Public health -- Community health services, reproductive health
  • Rural development work (with a focus on women and children)
  • Communication for development (with a focus on women's issues)

Eligibility requirements:

  • Indian women graduates from a recognised Indian university
  • Have a consistently remarkable academic record
  • Must have applied for admission/ secured admission to universities or institutions in the United States, UK or Europe for the year 2012–2013
  • Work experience in the requisite fields will be considered an added qualification

Important note: Candidates in part-time, short or correspondence courses are not eligible to apply.

Important dates:

Applications will be available from Monday, 23 April 2012 to Tuesday, 15 May 2012.

The deadline to submit the completed forms at the Trust's office is Friday, 25 May 2012.
