The Benelli TNT 600i is now available with an ABS option, as a part of an exercise with which the brand has started to equip all of its range with ABS. The bike sees no other mechanical changes says Indian automobile website MotorBeam.

The Benelli TNT 600i is a great bike with established performance credentials in a fiercely competitive two-wheeler segment. But a bike this premium is always expected to come with all the bells and whistles attached in order to justify the relatively astronomical price tag. Thus Benelli has decided to equip the TNT 600i with ABS, along with its whole line-up, in order to meet future security norms.

Benelli has decided to add ABS to the feature list of the mid-sized TNT 600i naked roadster. The brand will slowly phase in ABS kits for its entire range of motorcycles which will take about an year to accomplish. This move is definitely going to make the high performance motorbike garner more customers as the fabled performance of the bike will now be more accessible to novice youngsters.

The move will also make the bike compliant with the government's upcoming safety norms for 2017, which will require all manufacturers to offer ABS on their two-wheelers (above 125cc).

The ABS on TNT 600i is switchable, so for those who like stoppies and locking the rear wheel, they can turn off ABS. The bike sports no other mechanical changes and continues with the same features and colour options. The ABS variant is available for a price of Rs 5.73 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The Benelli TNT 600i is powered by an inline 4-cylinder 600cc engine which makes 84 HP of power at 11,500 RPM and 54.6 Nm of torque at 10,500 RPM while mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The motorcycles are locally assembled at DSK's Wai facility in Pune using imported CKD kits.
