Quick to jump on the success of the Gixxer street-fighter, Suzuki has launched Gixxer SF in India priced at Rs 83,859 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Retaining the underpinnings from the Gixxer, the new SF or 'Sport Fairing' gets an aerodynamic full fairing inspired from their MotoGP bike and also draws references from the bigger GSX-R750 in the manufacturer's lineup. Suzuki says that the bike was developed in the same wind tunnel (a tunnel where wind blows from the front to check aerodynamics of a bike) as the Hayabusa, GSX-R and the MotoGP bikes.

In terms of dimensions, the 2015 Gixxer SF measures 2050 mm in length, 785 mm in width and 1085 mm in height with a wheelbase measuring 1330 mm. The bike sports a ground clearance of 160 mm and a seat height of 780 mm while weight is measured at 139 kgs, 4 kgs heavier than the naked Gixxer.

The SF comes with a fuel tank capacity of 12-litres and is capable of returning an ARAI certified fuel efficiency of 63.5 km/l courtesy of the Suzuki Eco Performance (SEP) technology.

Power comes from the 154.9cc single-cylinder, air-cooled, 2-valve engine that belts out 14.8 PS of power at 8000 RPM and 14 Nm of torque at 6000 RPM, paired to a 5-speed transmission. The bike gets telescopic front forks and an adjustable monoshock rear suspension setup while braking duties are performed by a single disc at the front and a drum brake at the rear. The bike features a digital console with gear shift indicator, LED tail light, clear lens turn indicators and a dual exhaust aluminium finished muffler.

Suzuki is offering the Gixxer SF in three colours namely Pearl Mirage White, Glass Sparkle Black and Metallic Triton Blue with the latter available is special MotoGP livery to celebrate the manufacturer's return to MotoGP racing this year. The Gixxer SF will be competing with the Yamaha Fazer, R15, Hero Karizma, Honda CB150R and the likes, and is the most affordable full faired motorcycle to go on sale in the country.
