Breastfeeding should be a law: Gisele Bundchen
August 04, 2010

The supermodel claims that in addition to being the healthiest option for your baby, it's also the best thing to get you back into shape.

First-time mother and supermodel Gisele Bundchen [Images] has claimed that breastfeeding her baby boy helped get her back in shape.

The supermodel, who gave birth to son Benjamin in December, shared her opinion on the never-ending debate between the benefits of breastfeeding versus feeding a baby formula.

"Some people (in the US) think they don't have to breastfeed, and I think, "Are you going to give chemical food to your child when they are so little?" the New York Daily News quoted Bundchen as telling Harper's Bazaar UK.

She added, "I think there should be a worldwide law, in my opinion, that mothers should breastfeed their babies for six months."

The Brazilian beauty, who is married to NFL hunk Tom Brady, also said that it was very easy to give birth.

Thanks to some meditating, the model said the eight-hour natural birthing process "didn't hurt in the slightest."

"It prepared me mentally and physically. It's called 'labour' not 'holiday' for a reason, and I knew that," she said.

"You want to go into the most intense physical experience of your life unprepared? That doesn't make any sense to me."

"Then I was ready and I thought okay, let's get to work."

"I wasn't expecting someone else to get the baby out of me," she added.
