Rajesh Karkera
Model watch: Bharat Sharma

Bharat Sharma is a Delhi-based model who started his career with Gladrags. He entered from Pune and won the title of Mr. Pune. A model who takes his career lightly, he candidly claims this is not a long-term prospect. He has his head on his shoulders and has another job with Chateau Indage, for when the assignments dry up. He also states that modelling requires no talent beyond good looks and a fit body.

On Four Fashion Weeks:
I think it's a bad idea because because buyers find it difficult to move from one venue to another; from one city to another. And if you, as a model, are on friendly terms with a designer, you can't refuse to walk for them.

On uncomfortable clothes on the ramp:
We have no say in the selection of clothes we are made to wear. We can't object, because there are many models waiting in the wings for an opportunity. When designers book a model, they know exactly what they want him to wear.

On personal style:
I love wearing jeans and a tight T-shirt. That's my favorite outfit.

On male models:
These days there is more supply and less demand. There are so many male models and not enough work to go around. Also, designers tend to exploit us, by asking us to walk for free, and all sorts of other favours. If you are new, it's quite a struggle. For me, modelling is just a source of extra income.

On keeping fit:
You have to work at it. I work out everyday and watch my diet carefully. Keeping your body lean and fit is a full-time job. It's always on my mind.
