The guru-shishya tradition has been an important part of our education system for centuries.

Remember Eklavya honing his archery skills in front of Dronacharya's sculpture and offering him his thumb as Guru Dakshina?

We in India have always honoured this special relationship between a teacher and student.

Today is Guru Purnima, and for many Indians it is a special day when you will be paying your respects to your gurus.

Did you come across a guru who showed you the right path, guided you towards success and mended your ways when you strayed? S/he could be anybody from within your family, your school, your college, your office or your locality.

What did you gain/learn from your guru-shishya relationship? We would like to know about it.
