Traditional Karwa Chauth recipes October 29, 2007 Whether Karwa Chauth is celebrated in your home or not, here are two traditional sweet preparations you can enjoy on the occasion! Basundi ~ Ingredients: ~ Method: Stir fry the cashew nuts and raisins in the ghee. Next, mix the milk, sugar and stir-fried dry fruit together and bring to a boil. Once the milk starts boiling, pour the condensed milk slowly in while stirring continuously. Continue to stir for 15 minutes. Let the mixture set. The basundi is now ready to serve. Fruit kheer ~ Ingredients: ~ Method: Peel and dice all the fruit into small cubes. Boil the milk along with the rawa and sugar, stirring continuously. Boil until the milk quantity reduces by 1/2 an inch. Add cardamom. Deep-freeze the kheer for 10 minutes. Add the diced fruit and serve (you can also add dry fruit to the mix).
