March 20, 2007

You are young, ambitious and raring to go in your career.

You're all geared up to face the challenging situations that arise at work everyday.

However, sometimes you have to make certain choices that will affect your career in the long run.

Picture this hypothetical work scenario, which could happen to you anytime in the future:

You have received a decent job offer from Company A, which you have accepted.

However, days before you join Company A, you receive an enticing offer from Company B.

You REALLY want to work for Company B.

And you are very tempted to forfeit company A's offer and opt for Company B.

What would YOU do in such a situation?

Will you join Company A merely because you have already said 'Yes'?

Will you instinctively opt for Company B without a thought to the inconvenience you will cause Company A?

If you do decide to go with Company B's offer, is there a means to decline Company A with finesse so as not to risk spoiling your relationship with them?

How will YOU go about making an informed choice in a situation like this?

Have you already been in a situation like this?

Tell us your ideal course of action.
