IIFT: Entrance exam details for MBA course

What: The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade is conducting the entrance exam for admission in their MBA course for 2007-2008.

~ The MBA (IB) is a six trimester general management programme with a focus on international business.

Pattern of Admission Test

The admission test is a multiple choice objective type written test (in English). Duration of the test is two hours. It will cover English Comprehension, General Knowledge & Awareness, Logical Reasoning and Quantitative Analysis.

Exam Date Written Test on Sunday, November 25, 2007 between 10.00 a.m. and 12.00 noon

 

Test Centres: Ahmedabad, Allahabad, Bangalore, Bhubaneshwar , Chandigarh, Chennai, Coimbatore,Delhi, Dehradun, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Jamshedpur, Kochi, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur and Visakhapatnam [Images].
 
Eligibility:

~ Recognised Bachelor's degree of minimum 3 years' duration in any discipline.

~ Candidates appearing for a qualifying examination can also apply subject to submission of proof of requisite qualification by October 7, 2008.

~ No age limit

Mode of Admission Test

For General/SC/ST/PH category: On the basis of Written Test, Group Discussion and Interview.

For Foreign/NRI/Children of NRI category:

1.             On the basis of General Management Aptitude Test (GMAT).

2.             GMAT result should not have been declared before January 1, 2006 and should be received by the Institute latest by March 31, 2008.

 Admission Based on marks for written test, candidates will be called for Group Discussion and Interview to be held during January/February at Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow and Mumbai.
 
How To Apply:

~ You should have a demand draft of the applicable amount favoring INDIAN INSTITUTE OF FOREIGN TRADE payable at DELHI since you will be required to fill in the details of the demand draft in the Online Application Form (Click here)

~ Applicable amount of the demand draft is as follows:

a.       General/OBC Indian candidates: Rs 1300

b.       SC/ST/PH candidates: Rs. 700/-

c.       Foreign/NRI/Children of NRI candidates: US$ 75 (Indian Rs. 3000/-)

~ Since you will be required to send a print out of your online application to IIFT, your computer should have attached printer.

~  Print Only on A4 size paper in portrait layout.(If Barcode doesnot print properly,please refresh(Press F5) then print)

~ Once you complete your online application form and submit the same, take a print out and send the same to IIFT after doing the needful as follows:

a.       Sign in the Box provided for the purpose.

b.       Paste your photograph in the box provided for the purpose.

c.       Enclose the demand draft of the applicable amount with your full name, address and application number on the reverse of the demand draft.

d.       Enclose two self addressed adhesive labels.

e.       Enclose copy of the requisite certificate, if belonging to SC/ST/PH category.

f.        Attach copy of your GMAT Score if belonging to Foreign/NRI/Children of NRI category.  If you do not have the GMAT score, you can also submit the same separately by 31st March 2008 quoting your application number.

~ After receipt of the above application form with necessary enclosures, the Programme Brochure will be sent to the candidate through courier/post for information.  This will also confirm the receipt of the application form in the Institute.

~ Once this form is received in the Institute with necessary enclosures, the online database will be updated and the candidate will be able to see the status of his/her application online.  For this purpose the candidate needs to remember the password since it will be required along with the application no. for checking the status of the application.

1.              Last Date for Sale of Prospectus by post: 20th August 2007

2.              Last date for Sale of Prospectus across the counter at IIFT: 3rd September 2007

3.              Last Date for Receipt of completed Applications: 3rd September 2007

4.              Written Test: 25th November 2007 (10 am�12 noon)
