Go-karting was launched in India in 1997 by J K Tyre, at Faridabad, Delhi. 

Today, there are tracks all over the country.

Recently, Hyderabad launched Kart Cave, Asia's biggest indoor go-karting track, spread over 40,000 square feet. It will soon be open to the public.

Go-karting: no seconds, please!

Contrary to popular opinion, go-karting is not a poor cousin of the high-speed, high-glamour world of motor racing, and it is not like bumper cars at a fair.

It is actually quite a high-adrenaline sport, it can get very competitive (as anyone who has been to a track will testify to), can reach high speeds.

Several world famous Formula 1 drivers like Michael Schumacher [Images] and Ayrton Senna learned the ropes of motor racing through go-karting.
