If you ask me, birthdays are great for two things, awesome gifts and amazing parties. Let's face it ladies, otherwise we wouldn't willingly go through a day that labels our age! This year, one of my gifts was a really beautiful pair of reversible earrings and they are simply gorgeous to look at.

A chunky pair of earrings studded with pristine white pearly beads and detailed with glossy green enamel on one side, and sparkling white crystals detailing ruby-like red stones on the other side.  Doesn’t that sound just stunning? In short, they are perfectly ethnicand glamorously contemporary.

The wedding was a flamboyant destination wedding planned on a picturesque beach in Goa and I agree that it can be very thrilling. However, I realised that it can be not-so-exciting, when I started packing my bags. The fifteen kilo weight limits on domestic flights do not make things any easier. As if planning a wedding was not hard enough.

I had so many things to pack, from heavy lehengas, embroidered sarees and cocktail dresses to cosmetics, accessories and jewellery. With the bride’s checklist requiring priority, I barely managed to get all my clothes packed, managing to shove only a handful of jewellery inside my purse in the end. The reversible earrings saved a considerable amount of space for me, and because of that I managed to pack a few of my cosmetics as well.
