Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh [Images] seems to have decided to step into his close friend Amitabh Bachchan's [Images] acting shoes, and has signed on Dev Anand's [Images] next venture.

In an informal chat with reporters in Lucknow [Images], the politician claimed that he had been toying with the idea ever since he announced the candidature of Sanjay Dutt [Images] from the Lucknow seat.

"Devsaab approached me and asked if I would like to feature in his next film," Singh disclosed. "I told him that it would be a pleasure to work with him. The film centres around the home secretary [to be played by Singh] and how he tackles situations."

The film would be shot at his Lodhi Road residence after the elections are over.
