Noted film producer Sajid Nadiadwala was robbed by his personal security guard in the early hours of Friday. The incident happened at his Versova residence, in the North West suburb of Mumbai [Images]. The guard -- identified as Prabhat Tripathi -- managed to escape with Rs 7 lakh in cash and gold ornaments worth Rs 30 lakh.

"The incident happened at 3 am and we have issued a red alert notice to catch the culprit," Dilip Suryavanshi, Assistant Commissioner of Police, D N Nagar division said.

Tripathi was employed at Nadiadwala's residence for the last six months.

According to sources, Nadiadwala and his wife were held at gunpoint. But Suryavanshi denied it, saying he did not have detailed knowledge about the incident.

"We have just started our investigation.I have no idea about this incident," Suryavanshi added.

Nadiadwala has produced movies like Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, Jaan-e-mann and Heyy Babyy. His upcoming biggie Kambakht Ishq stars Akshay Kumar [Images] and Kareena Kapoor [Images], and also sees cameos from Hollywood personalities like Sylverster Stallone, Denise Richards [Images] and Brandon Routh.

A search is on to nab the absconding guard.
