Why Ash didn't kiss Martin!
March 03, 2008 11:15 IST

Ever wondered why Aishwarya Rai [Images] and Martin Henderson did not lock lips in the 2004 film adaptation of Jane Austen's novel, Pride and Prejudice?

Well, because it's director, Gurinder Chadha feared her mom would kill her if she did!

The British filmmaker whose films like Bhaji on the Beach, Bend It Like Beckham, Bride and Prejudice [Images], and Provoked, explore the lives of Indians living in the United Kingdom, told the Guardian.co.uk website that intimate scenes make her uncomfortable.

'I'm a good Indian girl, I still don't do sex scenes in my movies because my mum would kill me!,' she was quoted as saying.

Goes to show that roots really dig deep!
