It's raining Sholay!

The Bombay Bitch | September 11, 2007 18:35 IST

Take cover, people! After RGV's catastrophic Aag (sorry to remind you of the painful experience of watching this filmi garbage), Pritish Nandy Communications [Get Quote] has taken up the task.

They have brought the rights from the Sippys, so no issues there. Damn!

They plan to fabricate four (read: FOUR) versions of Sholay [Images]! At least it's not the same film with four endings. A remake, a prequel, a sequel and an animated version are on their way. Has anyone at PNC heard that excess of even a good thing is bad?

Imagine the prequel will reveal: How Jai found the double-sided coin. How Veeru was desperately looking for a hyper-active girlfriend. How Gabbar had a troubled childhood that made him a dakhu. How Thakur loved to wear finger rings.

The sequel would deal with: How Veeru and Basanti name their first child Jai (even if it's a girl). How Radha's white sari becomes a fashion statement. How Thakur decides to go in for artificial limb transplant finally. How Jai Jr goes in search of the double-sided coin (to make money out of the antique property).

The animated version, well, we only hope it won't have women with inflated busts! Because it's an obsession Indian animators often indulge in. Remember the animated video of Bindu Re Bindu, that animated chick had vitals like 56:22:36! How would Basanti balance herself on Dhanno with that top-heavy frame? Or maybe Radha will turn into a sultry seductress... Hey! It could happen.
