After the super success of the first and second seasons of Indian Idol, the third season is already underway.

The auditions for the new season have started, and 12 cities have already been covered. Now, the Indian Idol has come to Mumbai, and the auditions will be held from March 31 to April 2.

Since the phone lines for the auditions have closed down, a caravan will be arranged which will roam the streets of Mumbai on March 30 and 31, and audition people on the way.

Jolly Das, who was ousted out of the contest last year due to chicken pox, will be one of the top 13 finalists in Indian Idol this time.

But this year will see a difference. The judges now will be Anu Malik, Alisha Chinai and Udit Narayan. Javed Akhtar will be a special judge. Last year, Anu Malik, Sonu Nigam and Farah Khan had judged the competition.

Akhtar claimed that the jury was complete this time, as it has a male and female singer, a lyricist and a composer.

Last year's hosts Mini Mathur and Aman Verma will be replaced by Hussain Kuwajerwala.
